I am a watercolor artist living in Miami, Florida. Originally from Virginia, and a graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Political Science, I worked as a legislative assistant for the New York Stock Exchange Governmental Affairs Office in Washington, D.C. before moving to Miami. In Miami I worked as an advertising production manager. After many years studying photography, I began taking painting classes, and I am still experimenting with many subjects, although, at present, my work consists predominantly of tropical landscapes and flowers, as that is what surrounds me.
I love detail but am drawn to the grace and fluidity of the natural world. That is what I try to portray in my work. I often paint en plein air (outside) so I can "feel" what I am painting, but I also paint from my photographs.
In addition to subjects in nature, I also paint "Yacht Portraits", by commission, as well as equestrian related images for my "Horse Stuff" collection. I produce "frameable" note cards from most of my paintings.
